Fountainhead Entertainment Filmfare Awards
WIth Brittania as its tilte sponsor, the 60th Filmfare Awards recently concluded at the Yash Raj Studio in Mumbai. While every year the creative and production segments are split between multiple agencies, Fountainhead Entertainment (FH) handled every aspect of the show this year.
FH’s scope of work included stage design/management, video content, event flow, show running, entertainment acts, gags conception, inventory planning, special effects, pyrotechnics, creative production, event production, logistics, etc.
Hosted by filmmaker Karan Johar, actress Alia Bhatt and comedian Kapil Sharma, the show’s theme this year was ‘Entertainment…Entertainment…Entertainment.’ With 1300 guests at the event, there were performances by Ranbir Kapoor, Salman Khan, Alia Bhatt, Varun Dhawan, Arjun Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor.
Speaking about the show, VG Jairam, Show Director, Filmfare and Jt. MD, Fountainhead Entertainment, said: “In the already cluttered space of film awards, it becomes extremely challenging to differentiate and create engaging content for both on-air and on-ground audiences. In spite of these limitations Fountainhead was able to produce and direct a slick show. The combination of the unique anchors (Kapil for the masses and Karan for the classes) we got on the platform worked wonders. Designed as a combination of conversations, this year the show was flavoured slightly differently from its previous avatars.”
Explaining the setup, Jairam said: “The main purpose of the design this year was to be able to transform the look entirely from segment to segment depending on the mood requirement. Over 3000 sqft of moving LED was incorporated into the design of the set. Different areas of the set required different types of hardware for optimum performance from a camera, structural strength and design perspective. Never before has such a complicated combination of different types of LED tiles and mechanisms been put together for a televised production in India. A Watchout rig of over 8 multi-output servers servicing over 16 different outputs was required to achieve the pixel density and space planning of the design.”
