Momente Weddings executed this wedding of a very high profile industrial family of Tanzania. The celebrations took place in the town of Arusha, from 3rd September to 8th September 2014, with the venues scattered all over the town.
Momente Weddings was responsible for the entire planning and execution of the wedding. 150 team members and partners were flown from India for the execution of this wedding. Foodlink, Mumbai dished out exotic cuisines while Kenya based Bharat Soni & Co was responsible for Photography at all the events.
A truly global affair, this wedding with over 300 guests from all over the world including U.K., India, Australia, Kenya, and U.S.A.
The agency organized a gala welcome dinner for the guests. It was an African themed dinner, with the décor, entertainment and food set to match the theme. The bride and groom entered on the beats of African Ceracasi dancers and drummers. There was also an African Masai Dance Group, who performed and entertained the guests, with authentic African fare to match. An instant photo booth corner was set up where the guests could take some photo memories home.
The breathtaking Laxmi Narayan Temple was the backdrop for the Engagement Ceremony. The entire theme of the event was of Vrindavan and the décor was styled to match the peacocks that roamed the gardens of Vrindavan. The couple exchanged rings during recitals of Shlokas. This was followed by a classic Indian lunch.
The venue for the Sangeet was the lovely Frangipani Gardens. A Moroccan themed Sangeet was planned and Vivaah Decorators created an exquisite Moroccan set. There were Moroccan props for the guests to wear and get into the theme of the event. There were family performance followed by a great performance by Rodney, who had the guest dancing on the floor for hours. A slight drizzle could also not dampen the mood. The Wedding Bartenders created great cocktail mixes to keep the guest in high spirits. The Food links team had created an extensive dinner menu, which had the guests going back for more. Then, DJ AJ took over and had the guests dancing till the wee hours of the morning.
The Mehendi was held at the bride’s residence, in a ‘Punjabi Mela’ theme. There was entertainment galore as the ladies got their hands adorned with mehendi. Samir Tanna and his group sang some traditional songs while the guests were entertained with traditional ball games (like ring the bottle, pop the balloon etc.). Parandiwala and Kalirewala counters kept the guests engaged and in the grove of the celebration.
The wedding was held at the grounds of the majestic TGT Club. Guests were transported by buses to the ground where the ‘saafa bandhi’ was held and baraatis danced to the tunes of ‘Dholwalas’.The setup was very traditional with a floral mandap and the wedding ceremony was held in the Vedic Vivaah style with sholkas complementing the ceremony. There were scrolls printed for all guests so they could understand the essence of the ceremony.
Following, a contemporary Western style sit down reception took place with an ‘All-white’ theme. Exquisite centerpieces were designed especially for the evening. Followed by the couple’s cake cutting, toast and the first dance, an elaborate sit down dinner took place. After dinner, the DJ belted out Punjabi Bhangra and Bollywood music to conclude the wedding.
