DuPont Industry Biosciences has introduced supposedly the first commercial bio-material that is available to the apparel industry - Sorona. To launch this material, DuPont collaborated with Reliance Industries to bring forth the features of the fibre and showcase a collection of 36 sarees by Vipul Sarees.

To highlight the features of Sorona and launch the collection for Vipul’s dealers and distributors, Hexagon Events was approached to manage a launch event. To highlight the 36 saree designs, Hexagon suggested the theme of ‘Sarees for all Seasons’. The concept was taken forward as a fashion show for the launch, with Bollywood actress Huma Qureshi as the showstopper.

The pre-function area was designed to show the strong alliance of DuPont, Vipul and Reliance Industries marking out their journey and the various milestones achieved. For an exclusive touch and feel of the product, four different display zones highlighted the four features of Sorona. The distributors and media were invited to get a first-hand experience of the fabric.

Hexagon produced dynamic content, AVs and animations to add glamour to the fashion sequences. Each sequence was interspersed and introduced with a dance medley, concluding with the Winter Season and Qureshi’s special appearance. Guests who were picked through a lucky draw were invited to interact with the showstopper.

Impressed with Hexagon’s management, Gowri Nagarajan, Business Development Manager - Biomaterials, DuPont Industry Biosciences, said: “This was our first experience with Hexagon and without any hesitation, I can state the fact that our team was totally satisfied with the end product.
