Brand Promotions India recently returned with the 2nd season of its property Extreme Invasion - an action sports event. This time, however, the agency used a twist in the form of the X-Bus, a 32-feet long bus with a uniquely designed mobile sports ramp.

Held at InOrbit Mall (Malad) in Mumbai, the event witnessed around 700 spectators. Bringing back the skateboard and bicycle motocross (BMX) classics, the artists at the X-Bus pumped up the fans with enthralling performances. An experiential workshop and competition was conducted for enthusiasts who had a penchant for speed and adventure, where Firefox gave away bikes as prizes to the winners. Apart from Firefox, other sponsors were Vans, HRX and Polaris.

Apart from skateboarding and BMX, the event also comprised football freestyle, b-boying, parkour and rappers. Well known groups like Meteoric Group, Team Be, UDK unleashed their talent in front of the audience whereas rock band Groove Gully also put up a musical performance.

Speaking about the property, Sunil Kutty Menon, Director, Brand Promotions and President, Indian Extreme Sports Federation said: “X-Bus is an experiential demo skatepark. The idea was to showcase extreme sports like skateboarding and BMX in particular. The X-Bus will provide experience to the audience to try out these sports on the ramp. This way we intend to bring the global underground culture to the youth of India. Brands also can make use of this experiential medium to connect to their audience.”

The X-Bus has started touring various cities like New Delhi, Chandigarh, Pune, Bangalore and Chennai, covering more than 20 venues including college festivals, mall venues and local gatherings. On Jan. 16 the bus will be seen at ZEAL, the annual inter-college cultural festival of Guru Nanak College of Science, Arts & Commerce. This will be followed by participation at the Worli Festival scheduled from Jan. 24 to 26. The idea is to cover five lakh eyeballs in a year whereas radio and online media will help reach out to around 20 lakh people.

Indian Extreme Sports Federation (proposed) is an association to be formed to facilitate and grow the aforementioned sports, build ramps in India, conduct national championships, and represent India in international extreme sports challenges.

A property of Brand Promotions, around 700 people experienced action packed stunts that involved skateboarding and bicycle motocross.
