American DJ and music producer Diplo along with fellow producers Jillionaire and Walshy Fire are ready to destruct the dance floor with their act ‘Major Lazer’ in India this weekend. After bringing The Chainsmokers to India last month, this is Vh1 Supersonic’s second instalment in its ‘Arcade’ series, executed by Starlight Events and Live Viacom18.

Organized in collaboration with Oji, the trio’s India Tour will go through Mumbai on Dec. 12 at Richardson & Kruddas Mill, Gurgaon on Dec. 13 at Kingdom of Dreams and Bengaluru on Dec. 14 at Ezone Entertainment.

Mumbai kicks off the tour with American DJ BOGL on opening duties. Engine Earz, a constant fixture at bass music festivals in the UK, and dubstep band Foreign Beggars’ MC Orifice Vulgatron will warm up the crowd before Major Lazer’s debut show in India.

Gurgaon will have Denmark-based Alo Wala kicking off the evening before handing over to India’s most well-known reggae collective Reggae Rajahs. After the Delhi-based act will be BOGL, and then Major Lazer.

Bengaluru will see India’s best and biggest in bass music warm up the crowd before the finale. DJ Sa x Sound Avtar go back-to-back in their trademark style mixing trap and bass into a very danceable and enjoyable package, while BREED, a producer known for his genre-bending productions, will follow before BOGL, then Major Lazer.

Prior to these gigs, Vh1 also organized various promotional pre-parties across Mumbai, Delhi, Bengaluru and Hyderabad, featuring acts like Nucleya, Lost Stories, Sound Avtar, Engine Earz and others.

The flag bearer of Jamaican dancehall and moombahton, Major Lazer has, through animated videos and pyrotechnics at stage shows that include zorbing and twerking, successfully managed to bring global underground sounds to a mainstream audience around the world. With two full length albums (Guns Don't Kill People…Lazers Do in 2009 and Free the Universe in 2013), its music spans numerous genres, usually fusing reggae and dancehall music.

Tickets for shows in the three cities are available for sale on GoSupersonic.in and BookMyShow.com.

The trio’s India tour will be supported by DJ Sa, Engine Earz, BOGL, Sound Avtar, Reggae Rajahs, Alo Wala and BREED.
