WOWed yet again, for the 6th time!

The 6th edition of EVENTFAQS' property - the WOW Awardsa just concluded at St. Andrew's Auditorium in Mumbai (on May 22). This year saw more than 600 entries across 29 categories, which were divided into brand activation, sponsorship marketing, industry conventions/exhibitions, entertainment/lifestyle, stakeholder engagement and intellectual properties.
This year saw Encompass, Showtime, Communique, Impact, DDB Mudramax, Madison Media, Jagran Solutions, Global Nomads, SALT Experiences, Pulp Strategy, Percept Live, Go Bananas, Wizcraft and Cineyug bag all the golds across various categories. This year, the show was themed ‘WOW & Then' to bring about a nostalgic atmosphere for the attendees. Hosted by Gitikka Ganju Dhar, Kubra Sait and Danish Sait, the event kicked off with Billy Joel's famous track - ‘We Didn't Start The Fire.' A nostalgic intro by Brian Tellis saw him anchor the audience through a heady time warp that took them from the 70s through to the present day, with the emphasis being on entertaining artist performances.
The performances were interspersed with sets of 42 awards, the corresponding acts took the audience through the decades. The performances included Luke Kenny's RJ act (70s music), Broadway and Beyond's musical act (80s music) Yana Gupta and Sumeet Nagdev's dance act (contemporary dance from the 90s) and Neeti Mohan's singing act (2000s). Usha Uthup also sang after her acceptance of a special industry award for outstanding contribution to the live entertainment industry. Alyque Padamsee was also awarded for lifetime achievement for which the theatre veteran delivered a graceful acceptance speech.
The event finally concluded with Sorabh Pant's comedy act and DJ Praveen Nair's EDM set, which both depicted the present decade. The official WOW Awards after-party - Go Live - was held at Bungalow 9, featuring Shruti Pathak's Guzzler act.
The event was managed by 7ty7 Entertainment, using the support of Vinayak Video Vision, Stagegear, Roger Drego and Sound.com for the technical aspects of the event. Presented by Kingdom of Dreams and and powered by MEHK, the principal partners were Zoom, E-Positive and One Film Company. With strategic partner as Team Rustic and fabrication partner as Right Angle, the stage was managed by On Cue and the AV content was managed by Simply Graphixx and Pixelight. With The Advertising Club, IPRS and RMAI supporting the event, the creative and digital partner was Skarma. The associate partners were Laqshya, SpaceandPeople and The Lab of Crazy Scientists. Israni was in charge of photography and Rain O Shine produced the trophies. TRIG was the security partner, Adglo was the printing solutions partner and Essess provided the genset.
