Vodafone India recently conducted a flash mob at 36 different locations in Indore on Jan. 22 and 23 and in Bhopal on Jan. 25 and 26. This activity was organized by Vodafone’s MPCG (Madhya Pradesh and Chattisgarh) circle to promote ‘Vodafone Music,’ one of its value added services.
The event was executed by U & I Resources, which has been handling events for Vodafone for the past 12 years. The agency’s role was to plan and execute the activity in such a way that it could connect to the youth of today and attract them towards Vodafone’s featured service. The team had to take care of all the elements - the infrastructure, dance group, branding, logistics, road show vehicles, etc.
Keeping in mind the occasion of Republic Day, the on-road flash mob aligned its promotion campaign perfectly with the patriotic theme. Speaking about the activity, Ashish Tiwari, Marketing Head, Vodafone MPCG said: “The idea behind coming out with such a campaign was to make the public aware about our featured service, with the motive to connect the youth to the brand features of Vodafone on the occasion of Republic Day.”
A fully branded vehicle was designed especially for the campaign with a high quality sound system. There were 25 dancers who gave out an energetic performance at each location, dancing to patriotic songs and engaging maximum people from the gathered crowd.
Speaking about the challenges faced in execution of the event, Sandeep Modi, Director, U & I Resources said: “The biggest challenge faced was the time frame given to us. We pulled together the entire event in a single day of planning. Years of experience in the event industry have taught us to navigate through any difficult situation.”
Held to promote ‘Vodafone Music,’ the two-city activity was managed by U & I Resources.
