Purple People manages Aamby Valley India Bridal Week 2010

VCI Hospitality Limited, under the aegis of Fashion Design and Promotion Council (FDPC), recently announced the launch of the first edition of the Aamby Valley India Bridal Week 2010 at a press conference. Sheena Chohan was the emcee for the press conference which was held at the Sahara Star Hotel, Mumbai on October 12, 2010.
The event will be held from October 29 - November 2, also at the Sahara Star Hotel and will be managed by Purple People Entertainment.
The India Bridal Week (IBW) is the first fashion week dedicated to bridal couture, jewellery and more. The concept behind the India Bridal Week 2010 is to offer 360 degree wedding solutions. The event aims to satisfy the preparation needs of any and every type of luxurious wedding. The array of exhibitors will include fashion designers, jewellery and accessory designers, lifestyle brands, honeymoon destination partners, home accessory retailers and more.
Vijay Singh, CMD, VCI Hospitality and Secretary General, FDPC said, "Aamby Valley India Bridal Week celebrates the most auspicious occasion in India - the wedding. It brings together under one roof all the needs of a conventional or contemporary bride. We have received a very positive response from designers looking to be a part of this event and will soon be finalising the participants. With the increase in expenditure on weddings, bridal wear today is the most profitable segment in fashion. We aim to tap this segment while helping the consumer to get the most out of our talented designers."
Vivek Kumar, CEO, Aamby Valley City said, "Aamby Valley City truly signifies progressive Indian fashion, lifestyle and elitist interpretations. Aamby Valley has always had an enterprising attitude towards the fashion world and what better way to start off this venture than by associating with all acclaimed designers from the industry. Hence we have associated with the IBW 2010".
Commenting on the event, Yuddhajit Dutta, Managing Director, Purple People Entertainment added, "We have managed some fashion events earlier such as the Signature Seven City Fashion Tour and more however, we bagged IBW through a pitch process. The event will comprise of 15 shows and we are expecting over 10,000 people to attend the event. For the first time, we will be setting up a 200 foot ramp for the bridal week. There will also be several activations held at the venue by brands like Gitanjali, Aamby Valley, Signature and more."
The by-invitation only event is being promoted through a 360 degree campaign. Renowned designers such as Manish Arora, Manish Malhotra, Neeta Lulla, Ashima Leena, Falguni and Shane Peacock, Rocky S, Shantanu and Nikhil and Anjali and Arjun Kapoor will be part of the grand event.
The event is being organised by VCI Hospitality under the aegis of the Fashion Design and Promotion Council.
