Skoda takes 56 journalists to Kashmir

Skoda took 56 automotive journalists (along with their crew) from Mumbai, Delhi, Bangalore and Chennai to Srinagar for a two-day familiarization drive in the new Skoda Yeti. The press drive was executed by Fountainhead Entertainment (FH), which has been associated with the brand since two years.
FH was in charge of transfers of the cars, collateral designing/production, transfers of the journalists, F&B arrangements, drive co-ordination, etc. FH identified the routes and planned the itinerary keeping in mind that the drives allowed the journalists to test the features of the car.
The first batch of journalists reached Srinagar at noon post which they had lunch and an extensive product briefing session conducted by the Skoda Product team (from Czech Republic) and Sudhir Rao, the MD of Skoda India. The journalists then drove through the ghats of Gulmarg and the beautiful valley of Sonamarg where they tested the cars to their limits and reviewed it as well. They were then directly driven to the airport to catch their flights out of Srinagar. The same schedule was repeated over the next two days for the second batch.
Commenting on the challenged faced in execution of the event, Rohan Salvi, VP - Business Development and Client Servicing (Events), Fountainhead Entertainment said: "The brand new Yetis had to be driven from Chandigarh and the support cars were driven from Delhi to Srinagar. It was very important to drive these cars carefully through the narrow ghats of Jammu with utmost care so that the cars were in their best of conditions for the journalists."
Adding further, Salvi said: "We had separate teams closely monitoring the car movement, the hotel arrangements and handling the entire convoy of 18 cars during the drive to Gulmarg and Sonamarg. We extensively co-ordinated with the local authorities of Jammu & Kashmir ensuring free movement of the cars in the state."
Sudhir Rao, MD, Skoda India commented on FH's execution: "We are extremely happy with the entire drive management done by Fountainhead, as the city had its own set of unique challenges to be taken care of."
The two-day press drive, held as a familiarization for the new Skoda Yeti, was executed by Fountainhead.
