Hero Indian Super League (ISL) announced a tie-up with Puma, a brand known for its rich football heritage, as its Official Ball Partner. The ISL, which is co-promoted by IMG-Reliance, Star India and supported by the All India Football Federation is scheduled to kick off on Oct. 12.

With this tie up, Puma will be providing match balls for all ISL matches and also for club warm-up and training sessions. During the league, Puma will be providing branded ball bags for clubs, which will be handy for storing training balls. To keep pace with the excitement for the knockout stages, Puma will be designing a special ball. The ISL branded balls will be up for grabs at the Puma stores and will also be distributed as giveaways for various promotional activities.

Speaking about the association, Abhishek Ganguly, the new MD of Puma India (replacing Rajiv Mehta) said: "Puma since its inception in 1948 has focussed on football and the brand has a rich legacy with the sport. The association with ISL brings in credibility and Puma is happy to be the official ball partner for the tournament. With the brand belief of ‘Forever Faster', Puma now aims on key performance speak. The football uses cutting edge innovation and we are glad to bring such technology to the table."

The official ball for the ISL is the ‘Puma EvoPower 1 Statement Football'. The FIFA-approved ball uses dual outer materials: one provides grip for more swerve in dead ball situations (free kicks and corners), while the other reintroduces Puma's patented dimple technology for improved aerodynamics. The football also features Puma's ControlCell designation for highly functional design engineered to maximize stability and control.

Puma recently associated with Arsenal FC and I-League champions, Bengaluru Football Club. With this ISL association, Puma aims to firmly cement itself as a serious player in Indian football.

The official ball of the Indian Super League will be the ‘Puma EvoPower 1 Statement Football’.
