Sajid Shamim is the Director – Sales and Marketing of Reebok India, and has been with the company for the past ten years. Under his leadership Reebok has been credited with many firsts and has successfully maintained the brand leadership in an increasingly competitive market space. Sajid believes that as a market leader, Reebok must take the mantle on itself to grow the market and undertake new initiatives to go the extra mile in delighting the consumer with what is contemporary and unique.

A believer in an autonomous corporate set-up and empowerment of his team, Sajid is a leader who provides direction while providing ample scope for creativity, innovation and experimentation. He constantly motivates him team to see the “bigger picture” and the resulting vision has helped Reebok stay ahead of competition even in tough times.

Through innovations, careful Go-To Market Strategies and strategic tie-ups (examples include Shiamak Bollywood Workout for Reebok, Force India, Manish Arora etc) Sajid has successfully helped Reebok occupy a unique space in the consumer mindset – that of a sporty yet fun brand. With programs like loyalty cards for kids, bringing together sports and bollywood with the HEXRIDE Bipasha-Dhoni campaign, launch of revolutionary women products like Jukari and EasyTone, Sajid has walked the delicate balance finely and ensured that every consumer segment is offered something exciting and distinctive by the brand. His determination in associating with the Sportsman and not just the Sports star has led Reebok to support over 100 international and domestic cricketers, upcoming football and tennis stars and association with 4 IPL Teams. Reebok has also won a number of awards under his leadership like “The EMVIES” for Reebok’s partnership with the movie GOAL, “The Images Business of Fashion Award” for the most Admired Footwear Brand and recognition for innovations in Outdoor, Reebok is among the top brands in Brand Equity Survey of India’s Most Trusted Brands – June 2008 and consistently enjoys highest score on brand leadership parameters like Top of the Mind Recall, Most Admired Footwear Brand and so on in independent research surveys.

Sajid is a hardcore sports lover and particularly likes football and chess. He loves to listen to electronic music and catch up on some reading in his free time. His favorite books include “Clash of fundamentalism” by Tariq Ali, Buddha by Karen Armstrong and “God Delusion” by Richard Dawkins. He is an alumnus of XLRI Jamshedpur and worked with Coca Cola India prior to joining Reebok. At Reebok Sajid has had cross functional exposure in Sales, Retail, Marketing and Product.
