Sanjay Tripathy is Executive Vice President & Head - Marketing at HDFC Standard Life Insurance, one of the leading life insurers in India. As EVP in HDFC Standard Life, he is responsible for HDFC Standard Life’s Marketing Strategy, Brand Planning, Advertising & Communication Strategy, Corporate Communication, Customer analysis and segmentation, Direct Marketing, Channel Marketing, Market Research and Product positioning.
Under his leadership HDFC Standard Life has come out with the memorable 'Sar Uthake Jiyo' campaign which has enhanced HDFC Standard Life’s brand image. The campaign has received many awards and accolades including AAAI awards, ABBYs, Ladli Media awards, CNBC storyboard best consumer choice ad etc. 4Ps magazine has rated the campaign as one of the India’s 60 Glorious Advertising Moments after independence.
Sanjay has a management degree from IRMA with 17 years of experience in Marketing, Corporate Communications, Business Strategy, Sales and Distribution channel set up and management (Direct channel, Retail, Key account management & Telemarketing), Business development, Organisation Building, Business process outsourcing, Call centre management, CRM and Supply Chain Management.
Sanjay started his career with GCMMF Ltd. in 1992. Post-GCMMF; he worked with various reputed organizations like Frito-Lay (PepsiCo), Mattel and Reliance Infocomm before moving on to his current role at HDFC Standard Life in 2004.
Some of his major contributions include launching Dhara at GCMMF and expanding its business in Kerala & Orissa, setting up of Frito-Lay's business in the East and North-East, building Mattel's business in the East, North-East, Bangladesh, Bhutan and Nepal. In time, he grew to be the National Head-Marketing Planning for Mattel. At Reliance Infocomm, he was instrumental in launching the Dhirubhai Ambani entrepreneur programme. His biggest contribution at Reliance Infocomm, was launching the Reliance IndiaCall (international calling card) in USA, Canada and UK which is now more than $1 billion dollar per year business.
Sanjay was awarded the ‘Indira Super Achiever Award’ 2007 by the Indira Group of Institutes, Pune in collaboration with ‘Fun & Joy at Work’. The focus for 2007 awards was on Leaders and Entrepreneurs who believe in "MAD" approach - Making a Difference.
Sanjay is a member of the Technical Committee of Indian Readership Survey (IRS) at Media Research Users Council (MRUC). Sanjay regularly speaks in various local and global industry forums and is an active member in various industry bodies. In his spare time, he loves to mentor management graduates in various B-schools and pursue Graphology. He is an avid reader and loves sports. |
