Mother of the Nation Festival
As the UAE celebrated the Mother of the Nation Festival at Abu Dhabi’s Corniche from March 26 April 4, mamemo also marked major milestones in its history of creating two breathtaking immersive experiences. The 2 pavilions saw over 75,000 visitors in 10 days.
Mother of the Nation Pavilion
The main centerpiece of the Festival, the 1600sqm MOTN Pavilion, featured a glowing façade, which was created by a combination of indirect lighting from within its panels and from a specially created light mapping projection, creating a dramatic impact on the night sky.
The core of the Pavilion is a 2-level structure that housed a majlis, a roof deck lounge and the different experience zones that told the story of generations of strong Emirati women who have made an impact on the lives of their people today and celebrates the inspiration and values of Her Highness Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak Al Nahyan.
mamemo’s team of content creators and designers worked closely with Abu Dhabi Tourism & Culture Authority, to produce and curate content for this infotainment journey, which featured authentic artefacts from the ancient and modern history of the UAE.
MIYAH World Premier
Created and designed as a touring exhibition, MIYAH translates deep information on water security – from its source, consumption, and sustainability – into an experience that visitors easily understood.
mamemo’s team interpreted numerous studies on the topic into different multimedia and digital installations that inspired thousands each night. The Interactive Water Footprint Wall, in particular, translates the information on water footprint of different products that we use daily into an intuitive game that drew both children and adults.
Talking about their work at the festival, Sam Katiela, Managing & Creative Director, mamemo said, “We are proud of our team’s accomplishment in developing these two world-class immersive infotainment pavilions. It was quite a challenge that we gladly took, particularly with the limited production time, but we all pulled through, thanks to the trust and great support of our clients, Abu Dhabi Tourism & Culture Authority and Flash Entertainment. We are looking forward to create a wider impact from these projects, particularly with MIYAH, which we aim to tour around the world.”
mamemo was responsible for producing the main centrepiece of the festival, the MOTN Pavilion, and also the pavilion for Miyah’s world premier.
