Red FM appoints Krishna Menon as National Activation Head

Red FM has appointed Krishna Menon as its National Activation Head. While he has been given the additional responsibility as the Station Head for Mumbai, Anand Raj has been appointed as Station Head in New Delhi. In the current financial year, the station is expecting the activation division to contribute around 15 to 20 per cent of revenue to its toplines.
Menon brings with him experience in sales and business management of about 11 years. Raj, however, has been involved with the national promotions and client solutions portfolio for Red FM in Mumbai for the past two and a half years.
Commenting on the new appointments, an official spokesperson from Red FM said, "We are pleased to have Menon on board. Menon's reputation in the entertainment industry precedes him in the marketplace. We are confident, given his excellent track record and entrepreneurial skills, that he will be able to take Red FM's activations division, Red Activ, to new heights."
Commenting on the plans for the division, Menon observed that activations will be a mix of station-led initiatives and pure brand-led on-ground activations. He added, "For most of our activations, we will use the radio for amplification. However, this does not stop us from pitching for pure-play on-ground activations as well. Moreover, in the coming months, we will be focusing on repositioning properties owned by brands, as well as developing and building on our IP platforms like the Bajaate Raho Awards."
Prior to his appointment at Red FM, Menon worked with Bloomberg UTV as the AVP for the Advertiser Funded Programs Division. He was also associated with a leading radio station and was instrumental in setting up their activations team and was responsible for the launch of their Trivandrum station. He has also had stints at organizations such as Diageo, BPL Mobile and E18.
