Marathi Short Film Festival announced

The Marathi Short Film Festival is a competitive film festival that takes film submissions made in the Marathi language.The aim is to create an annual event that will fortify our Marathi film industry in India and abroad. The event is being organised and promoted by Ideal events and productions.
This event will seek to bring together student filmmakers, industry professionals and film devotees not only from Maharashtra but across the globe to showcase their films and celebrate their talents in a 2 day film festival.
"This is the very first time such an event is being conceptualized and organized and it will become an annual property. There are no sponsors or partners. The organizers are the whole and sole of the event. The Event is being organized by Ideal Events and Production.
It is a 2 day festival starting on 21st Jan and ending 22nd Jan; the date of the screening will be 21st & 22nd. We aim to create an annual event that will fortify our Marathi film industry in India and abroad" says Abhishek Kadam, Festival director.
"We also realize the need of platform like Marathi Short Film Festival which will guide the filmmaker's talent towards mainstream cinema. The challenge is to change the thinking of the audience that Short films are beyond a closed genre i.e. also for general audience viewing. They can become a great tool not just for entertainment but also highlight a particular message (e.g. social)" says Ameya Tembhekar, Festival Director.
Along with the competitive category, short films made by acclaimed film makers and awarded films from other short film festivals will be screened for the audience. Short films on a social cause will also be highlighted, that will enable a well-crafted outreach plan that will assist by using their film as a tool for raising awareness and creating a change.
The screening session will followed by the MSFF awards ceremony. The ceremony will be honored by eminent personalities and eye-catching performances. Prizes will be divided into the following categories: Best Short Film, Best Director, Best Actor, Best Actress, Best Cinematography, Best Editor, Best Film Audience Choice/Popular Film Award, Best Film on a Social Cause and Best Animation Film.
These prizes will be in the form of Cash, attractive Mementos and certificates. All the movies shall receive a participation certificate. The ceremony will be followed by cocktails and dinner, at which the industry professionals and students will have the opportunity to network and exchange their experience of the festival.
MSFF's audience will be educated, affluent and culturally aware. 80% of them are of the age group 20 - 45 years, and are part of a premium niche market.There are no agencies hired to execute the festival the organizers have their inhouse team managing the entire event.
