Lonely Planet Magazine India and Switzerland Tourism, in association with Swiss International Airlines, hosted a Swiss-themed evening to promote Switzerland as a tourist destination. The night witnessed a live music act, and mixologist extraordinaire Shatbhi Basu showcasing a range of chocolate cocktails.
Actor Neil Nitin Mukesh unveiled Tourism Switzerland's newest campaign, followed by emcee and stand-up comedian Rohan Joshi performing on the stage.
Jorg Peter Krebs, Director-IMEA at Switzerland Tourism said: "India is a very important market for Switzerland tourism as it's been growing at a rate of 20 per cent per year for the last three years, and the potential for growth of numbers of tourists from India is immense. We decided on a Switzerland night with Lonely Planet Magazine India as we wanted to bring out the young and trendy aspect of Switzerland to the Indian traveller."
Commenting on the event, Vardhan Kondvikar, Editor, Lonely Planet Magazine India said: "Switzerland is a country that Indians love but only think they know, and we at Lonely Planet believe Indians need to get to know this country better - not just its beauty but its people too. And this red and white event, endorsed by none other than Neil Nitin Mukesh, was a great example of our partnership showcasing great food, great music, great chocolate and a love for something new."
Debolin Sen, publisher of Lonely Planet Magazine India said: "Lonely Planet Magazine, India's most preferred travel magazine, has always sought successful partnerships with brands of equal repute. In Switzerland Tourism the magazine found such an association. The Switzerland Night has been a terrific and engaging start to a long and enduring partnership. I wish Switzerland Tourism the very best in their continuing endeavours at growing the contribution from India."
