Reliance Broadcast Network Ltd.'s IP vertical, BIG Live, announced its new property, ‘BIG Salute to Women Entertainers Awards', on July 26. This first of its kind initiative proposes to honour women across seven regional markets and celebrate the success of the Indian women entertainers across the genres of cinema, television, music, media, fashion, dance, sports and theatre. The awards will have three categories across the segments - young, adult and senior - covering all age groups and engaging a vast profile of viewers.

The awards will receive nominations from across Maharashtra, West Bengal, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Punjab, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh and Bihar. These nominations will be open to audience voting online and via SMS through RBNL's radio vertical 92.7 BIG FM. The nominees will be selected by a jury panel which have been locally identified for each region. Categories like cinema and television will be directly put to popular voting on the BIG FM's network for the listeners to select their favourite women entertainers.

Commenting on the announcement, Rabe T. Iyer, Business Head, BIG Live said: "Through this innovative concept, we wish to pay a tribute to the world of women entertainers without whom we wouldn't have been treated to a truly complete entertainment package. These awards will have a high appeal in their respective regions as people will get to see their local women entertainers on this pedestal achieving recognition. The awards will receive multiple media promotions across our radio, television and out-of-home advertising verticals. Through this platform, we will reach out to a diverse audience while offering marketers an excellent property to partner with us."

BIG Live has the successful execution of over 23 strong properties, including BIG Star IMA Awards and BIG Star Entertainment Awards, in under a year to its credit.
