To create the right ambience for the event, the venue was turned into a stylish lounge salon with live salon stations where people could get the latest makeovers from the Indian artistic team and the international creative team from WAHL. As a first for a press conference, the members of the press were invited to get a new hairstyle and experience WAHL for themselves.
Maximus MICE & Media Solutions was awarded the mandate for this event on the basis of a pitch process. Commenting on their proposal, Reema Sanghavi, MD, Maximus MICE & Media Solutions said: "We won the account on the basis of our unique concept. We proposed that Simon Shaw, the International Creative Director, would come down and demonstrate a Professional Speed Cut in front of a live audience. With assistance from Michele Damiano, International Artistic Instructor, Shaw performed a hair cut in five minutes, while explaining the process and keeping time with a five minute music track that had been selected to time him."
The press conference began with Wahl's business team introducing the brand and what it stands for. This was followed by model and actor Milind Soman and Mugdha Godse coming on-stage and unveiling the hair cut that Shaw and Damiano had executed for the model in five minutes. The model was sporting a hair tattoo of the map of India with the WAHL Logo tattooed in the centre, an effective launch of Wahl India. Rohit Sood, Managing Director, WAHL signed off on the launch saying, "WAHL has just clipped its way into India."
Following the unveiling, Damiano and the Wahl Indian artistic team were introduced to the members of the press. The Wahl Indian artistic team comprises of the best known names in the industry like Brent Barber from B:Blunt Salon, Savio John Pereira from Savio John Pereira Salon, Ity Agarwal from Psalm23 Salon, Raman Bhardwaj from A.N. John Salon, Vipul Chudasama and Aashish Christian from La-Femme Salon, Renee Melek from Hyatt Salon, and Amali Kandasamy from Looks Unisex Salon.
The launch then ended with the members of the press being invited to have a personal grooming session with Shaw, Damiano and the Indian artistic team, who showed off their skills with Wahl's extensive range of clippers and personal trimmers. Sanghavi said, "The concept was a huge success. Every single member of the press got their hair done before they left."
