The track day is open to street cars and modified cars, both Indian and foreign, and the track will be open from 8 AM to 5 PM for a fee of Rs. 15,000 per car. At the track, some instructors, top racing drivers, rally drivers, and tuners will be free to assist and answer any questions that guests have. During the day, the top six drivers, based on skill and car control rather than speed, will be identified and they will be given an opportunity to set a time to be beaten on the next track day.
Cars such as BMW M3, Nissan 370 z, Honda City, and the Maruti Esteem Swift have entered. A series of modified cars such as the twin cam 1600 cc Honda City and a Maruti Zen 1.3 twin cam GTI will also be participating.
The Buddh international circuit has been holding various events with corporates and manufacturers where the organisers have been leasing the track especially to launch cars."We are the first event company that has hired the track with the objective of conducting a pay and drive track day for all cars above 1000 cc. Our endeavour is to organise the event for four more days, the objective being that anyone with a roadworthy car can drive to enjoy a track event," said Arjun Chopra, Managing Director, The Right Stuff Events.
"We would like to see motorsport go the mass way and hence, our pricing has been relatively low as some private clubs have charged their members Rs. 50,000 per head to drive on the track," added Chopra.
