Indian weddings have always been a grand affair with lots of joy, pomp, celebration as well as the coming together of the entire family. Keeping up with this tradition and looking to promote the show 'Baat Hamari Pakki Hai', Sony Entertainment Television organised a grand scale wedding as part of the show. The event, promoted as 'Television Ka Sabse Badah Vivaah' was produced and managed by Seventy Seven Entertainment, and will be telecast as a special episode on August 1.
On the thought behind this initiative, Danish Khan, Vice President and Head of Marketing, Sony Entertainment Television, said, "The wedding event was more like a marketing driven initiative to attract new audiences to sample and continue to watch the serial from Monday. We have been promoting the special episode on-air through television promos across channels, and is also supported by print and OOH."
The large scale wedding had prominent celebrities such as Ragini Khanna, Jay Soni, Mahi Vij, Aamir Ali, Sanjeeda Sheikh, Rakhi Sawant, Bappi Lahiri, Krishna, Sudesh Lahiri, Bharti Singh, Anu Malek, Sunidhi Chauhan, Salim Merchant along with the participants of Indian Idol 5 and Boogie Woogie performing on the day of the wedding.
Manoj Gopalani, Director, Seventy Seven Entertainment, said, "We were asked to produce a show that depicted the grandeness associated with an Indian wedding. Since it was a marketing-led initiative we weaved in performances from the channel's other shows as well along with other prominent celebrities."
The agency had managed the entire event, along with the set design and theme for the wedding.
