Taiwan Excellence announces ‘The SmarTEST!’ campaign in India

In the wake of the success of last year's IT Travelers Go! Campaign, Taiwan Excellence is introducing the 2012 Taiwan Excellence ‘The SmarTEST!' campaign. Organised by the Bureau of Foreign Trade, Ministry of Economic Affairs, Taiwan; and implemented by Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA), the campaign was officially announced by celebrity endorser Malaika Arora Khan. The campaign was announced along with 31 Taiwan international brands from the ICT industry, home appliances industry, and sports & leisure industry.


Those interested in participating can log on to www. 2012smartest.com and register for the 24-hour online challenge on July 7. The challenge is aimed at testing the contestants' general knowledge and knowledge of Taiwan and Taiwan Excellence brands. The top 10 contestants with the highest scores from each country will proceed to the next round of challenges, which will be conducted in August. Using a variety of Taiwan Excellence products, the contestants will have to perform a series of tasks. The winner will be decided based on the number of votes received in support of each contestant. The champion of the Round 2 challenges will choose two people to constitute a team that will represent their country and compete against the winning teams from the other three countries in the finals, which are to be conducted in Taipei, Taiwan in October. The contestant with the most number of favourable reviews and support from The SmarTEST! Committee and online followers will win The SmarTEST! championship title.


The SmarTEST! Campaign in India will see 31 Taiwan international brands team up with TAITRA. These include information technology and communication brands such as ADATA, ASUS, Aver, AVerMedia, Avision, BenQ, Cooler Master, D-Link, EDIMAX, ENERMAX, Genius, GIGABYTE, Just Mobile, Optoma, PQI, Silicon Power, Thermaltake and Transcend, as well as home and leisure brands such as Carnation, CASHIDO, Crosscarf, EILONG, EVERLIGHT, INADAYS, Karma, Microlife, PX,SHUTER, Strength Master, Watotec, and YENSUN. All these brands offer the latest models to the SmarTEST! contestants to learn, try on, and experience their quality and functionality.


This year, The SmarTEST! Campaign has broadened its scope and increased the prizes and cash rewards to USD 100,000. The campaign has been launched in India, China, Indonesia and Vietnam. 30,000 participants are expected to compete online on July 7. Contestants can participate from anywhere through their desktop, laptop or smartphone. Alternately, they can log online at The SmarTEST! quiz center at Trade Center, Bandra Kurla Complex, Mumbai.


Commenting on the challenge, Emma Yang, Director, Taipei World Trade Centre Liaison Office said: "It's a Saturday, so you can sleep the rest of the day on Sunday. So, what do you get in return after sacrificing your sleep? You get the opportunity to stand a chance for our cash and prizes totaling USD 100,000! This is unheard of and definitely the biggest prize ever in Asia."
