Following the report, Karan Basantani, Senior Manager - Operations, THOT Media Pvt. Ltd., applied for the scholarship programme and has been selected for one of the 12 places. Basantani is the only applicant from India to receive a place in the '12 for 2012' international scholarship programme.

The course will take place from July 29 to Aug. 4 and, among other things, will include special event tickets for the Olympic Games to witness the Olympic event management team in action.

This programme, which is in partnership with EEMA (Event & Entertainment Management Association), offers young people from around the world the opportunity to study and gain first-hand experience of key sporting and cultural events in the UK.

Taking place at the Graduate Centre of Lincoln College (Oxford University), Event Business Academy offers hands-on courses in event management to educate and inspire the next generation of event professionals. Featuring participants from across the globe, the courses will teach the principles and practice of excellent event management, as well as on-the-ground learning experiences at this year's key events.
