Kingfisher Premium - The Great Indian October fest (KGIOF) 2010, set to begin on October 22 will feature three continuous days of electrifying musical performances, unlimited beer, food, shopping at the bohemian flea market, a display of antique cars and an arena of competitive gaming. As informed earlier on EVENTFAQS, Common Colors is managing the event this year as well, at Palace Grounds in Bengaluru.

Speaking on the lineup scheduled for this year's event, Samar Singh Sheikhawat, Sr. VP - Marketing, United Breweries Limited said, "The event is one of India's largest carnivals and represents the true celebration of the Good Times. We took the initiative of celebrating the spirit of Octoberfest in our country, giving our consumers an unforgettable experience. The event provides us with a much-needed opportunity for fun and relaxation, an opportunity for exploring & enjoying music, cuisine, games, art and other such forms of entertainment. This also provides an opportunity to our consumers to experience internationally acclaimed artists and DJ's who bring with them a unique experience from different genres of music. This year, we are also offering bundles of good cheer with the limited edition commemorative Kingfisher Octoberfest Draught Beer Cans."

Last year, KGIOF had penetrated an audience of over 50,000 people, saw more than 15000 ltrs of beer guzzled at its venue within the 3 days, hosted 7 festivals and 26 bands. This year, the weekend will kick start with the contemporary tunes of Medusa and visitors will be treated to an assembly of musical bands belonging to various genres. "The Other People" with their classical rock numbers, the wildly famous Bedouin Sound clash with their reggae tunes, Mohit Chauhan and Shaan with their Bollywood hits and the definitive show stealers of the weekend, Lacuna Coil with their extraordinary guitar ensemble are part of the line up.DJs Gordon, TYDI, Aqeel and Lost Stories are also scheduled for the late evening parties.

In addition to all that music and beer, a 5,000 sqft flea market has been introduced where an assortment of unique jewelry, accessories, clothes, antiques, souvenirs of TGIOF, etc. has been set up. Food stalls that serve an array of cuisines inclusive of Indian and continental, and an art center where painters and sculptors from across the country will display their talents live as well as showcase the talents of amateur artists are part of the set up at the venue.

A special KGIOF café has been created where a small stage is located within the café, where performers from across the globe will perform. The game zone is another area at the carnival where there are interesting games that challenge visitors to battle it out with their opponents. Another unique aspect of this year's carnival is the collection of yesteryear antique cars and bikes that will be on display. This display is open to all individuals who would like to showcase their collection.
