To celebrate the occasion of the foundation's anniversary, 50 solar lanterns were distributed to deserving villagers of Navlakha village in Madhya Pradesh. A para-veterinary training session for the rural youth to support the journey towards sustainable agriculture and livestock care was also held at KV Ratlam from Dec. 28 to Jan. 2.
Speaking about this initiative, Seemantinee Khot, Head - CSR, Suzlon Foundation said: "Responsible citizenship should become a way of life, and corporates and citizens together will have to recognize and support the collective efforts of village communities. On the occasion of its anniversary, the Suzlon Foundation is consulting key stakeholders on how to take current CSR programs to the next level of sustainability."
As its fifth year commences, the foundation also announced the ‘Village Development Award'. This will be awarded to the Suzlon neighbourhood villages with Suzlon CSR projects which have also undertaken their own initiatives in improving the infrastructure of their village. A panel will judge the applications received with the results to be announced in April.

The programs implemented by the foundation aim at optimizing the positive impacts of business on its surroundings and include the formation and strengthening of self help groups, village development councils and other committees. They seek to enhance the quality of education, while looking into the preservation of local natural resources as well the construction of community water resource structures.
