As the official channel partner for the 2012 Mumbai Marathon, Star Plus intended to inspire people to adopt a healthy lifestyle by bringing the marathon to its viewers through a live telecast of the event that took place on Jan. 15. Given an outreach of more than 300 million viewers every week, the marathon would reach a far larger number of people for its first telecast in HD.
Furthering the importance of healthy living, the members of Star Parivaar took it upon themselves to spread the message. The Dream Run saw participation from Ishaan, Suhana, Varsha, Shaurya, Suraj, Sandhya, Saachi, along with Star Plus ‘Survivors' JD Majethia , Shilpa Saklani, Rajesh Khera, Abhinav Shukla, Priyanka Bhassi, Munisha Khatwani, and their other tribe members.
Extending the channel's philosophy of ‘Rishta Wahi Soch Nayi' to the marathon, Nitin Vaidya, Business Head, Hindi Channels Star India said: "Star Plus has always believed in giving back to the society. We believe that for a nation to progress, it needs to be healthy and we want to promote this thought through the marathon. Hence, our communication of ‘Subah Nayi Soch Ki' urges India to adopt a healthy lifestyle so that we may progress as a nation. As proof of our commitment, prominent members of Star Parivaar participated in the Dream Run in the hope that they will inspire millions of their fans to do the same."
