The venue is being converted into a soccer arena to ensure that an exciting, fast-paced format of soccer is in store for the corporate executives. The tournament is played indoors and special rules are structured to ensure that the matches are competitive as well as fun. The tournament will not have goalkeepers, no offside rules, and the ball will always be in play using sideboards. The men's team will comprise four players and the women's team will comprise five players. Matches will be played on a league-cum-knockout basis. These 64 teams will play matches over a two-day period. The league matches will be held on the first day, while the knockout matches will be held on the second day. More than 1,000 spectators are expected to attend the tournament.
The tournament is sponsored by Standard Chartered Bank and co-sponsored by Vodafone. The associate sponsors are Cadbury Bournville and Budweiser. The tournament is being promoted through media releases and by sending mailers to Saran Sports' entire database.
