Commenting on associating with the Pushkar Camel Fair, Samit Garg, CEO, SkyWaltz said: "We approached the Rajasthan Tourism Board with the unique concept of holding a balloon festival within the Pushkar fair to add a new dimension to the event. Thus, post a tender process, we were awarded the mandate to manage the balloon festival. The balloon flight will take place twice on each day. As new initiatives, this year we will be having musical infusions at the balloon flights and special night glow balloons. On the last day, we also plan to light 1,000 sky lanterns and set them free in the air."
He further added: "Since we organise a series of balloon safaris, we have been able to generate a lot of enthusiasm amongst balloon pilots across the world. Out of the 40 entries we received, we have managed to shortlist 20 pilots to be part of the Pushkar Balloon Festival 2011."
Special packages are being made available to the public for this visual extravaganza, which will include luxury tented accommodation in the middle of the desert, sumptuous Rajasthani cuisine, and a balloon flight over the Pushkar Fair.
The Pushkar Camel Fair, held each November, is said to be one of India's most highly-rated travel experiences, a spectacle on an epic scale attracting 300,000 people and up to 20,000 camels, cattle and horses.
