People from various fields such as banks, BPO and IT, capital markets, consultancy, FMCG, shipping, travel and tourism, insurance, infrastructure and telecom, lawyers, media, mutual funds and the petroleum league are being targeted for the tournament.
This tournament is played in a five-a-side format, and will be a league cum knock-out basis. The pitch is smaller than the normal ground and the size of the goalpost is also small. All the FIFA rules are applicable, apart from rules like no offside, to ensure that the matches though competitive, are fun. A total of 48 teams will compete for awards in four categories, namely the Knock-Out Super Cup, Champions Cup, Salver and Bowl.
Speaking about the initiative, Sanjiv Saran Mehra, Founding CEO and Director, Saran Sports said: "Earlier, we had a tournament which was not industry specific but was open to all categories. This year, we have made the tournament industry specific. The sponsors are benefiting through the branding given on the T-shirts and bags. In addition, they get presence on the backdrop, stand banners and hoardings. We have managed to involve approximately 400 people in the tournament."
