The winner of RJ Giri will get a contract to work with Radio Mantra. To reach its target audience, the station adopted a multimedia approach for the promotions which included print, outdoors, BTL, digital and radio. This year too, the station primarily targeted college students and young executives in the age group of 18 to 30 years. Auditions were held at major city hot spots like JHV mall, IP mall and all the main markets while a canter was stationed outside Banaras Hindu University to attract the best of the talent in the city.
Elaborating on RJ Giri, Kanwar Sameer, National Programming Head, Radio Mantra said: "After the huge success of RJ Giri season 1, we decided to make a comeback in Varanasi, where we continue our search for a great voice that is full of life and attitude. Eight contestants will get a chance to be on-air from Oct. 18. Based on daily tasks, the contestants will fight it out to save themselves, as the bottom two candidates will be eliminated everyday."
The contestants will be judged on preset parameters of general awareness, spontaneity, wit, sense of humour, overall personality, and connect with the listeners. In the final phase, the top three contestants will compete in an on-ground event at Hotel Meradel Grand in Varanasi on Oct. 31.
