Rural Marketing Association of India (RMAI) has announced the third edition of RMAI Awards 2010, scheduled on November 26, 2010. Instituted in 2006, the biennial awards property was constituted to recognize rural initiatives, which have made a difference in the market. This edition of the awards will allow clients and agencies to enter case studies of projects from the period of April 1, 2008 to March 31, 2010.
On the property, Pradeep Kashyap, President, RMAI and Founder, MART, said, "RMAI initiated the awards property to increase the relevance and understanding of rural marketing amongst the advertisers fraternity. The awards property has been growing in terms of participation over the past two edition. We had around 45 entries for the awards in the previous edition, which we are expecting to go up substantially this time around since our membership base has increased to add a lot of new clients and agencies. In fact, now, there is much more awareness about the medium and investment in the space."
Entries are open for rural marketing and advertising agencies, marketing and brand consultancies, promotion marketing companies, rural research agencies and clients who have conducted marketing campaigns or elements of marketing/branding campaign through their in-house departments.
To be eligible to participate, campaigns must have beeen executed in towns / villages of less than one lakh population only, and should fall under any one of the 11 categories. The categories include 'Best long-term Rural Marketing initiative', 'Best integrated Rural Marketing Initiative', 'Best innovative Rural Marketing Initiative', 'Most effective use of Event Marketing', 'Most effective use of sales promotion and point of purchase', Most effective use of Direct Marketing print', 'Distribution and Trade Promotion', 'Internet/SMS/ mobile application - for rural people', 'Social/Health/ Developmental sector campaigns' and 'Best and innovative use of traditional media/ congregation point'.
One creative award will also be given out in each of the following sub categories: rural promotional film less than 60 secs, rural promotional film less than 10 minutes, 360 campaign (using press TV, radio, outdoor, BTL), Point Of Purchase design, Outdoor design poster(s) wall painting / installations, Radio Spot aired on rural FM or Air sub stations, Radio Program and Innovative communication tool/first time media.
The judging process constitues of the basic screening of applications for ensuring that they satisfy all conditions by the Awards' secretariat. The second stage will be the circulation of entries to a panel of judges; well known for their understanding of Rural Marketing, who will evaluate the entries based on agreed parameters. In each category, one Gold, one Silver and one Bronze will be given.
The last date for receiving entries is September 30, 2010, with the short listing of entries and judging followed by the declaration of finalists on October 31, 2010. The Awards ceremony, scheduled on November 26, 2010 will be organised at National Habitat Centre in Delhi.
