PvD has been prepping his sixth studio album, Evolution, which will be released in March 2012. Evolution is the follow-up to 2007′s ‘In Between', and with the new record, a new live show is also promised. The current world No. 11 DJ played two shows in India this week, both gigs being part of Dyk's mammoth Evolution tour.
Paul van Dyk, aged 40, is almost as old as the modern electronic music industry itself. Firmly entrenched in the musical consciousness of a loyal fan base spread across the world, he remains a regular feature on the lists of top DJs.
He has remixed the likes of Madonna, Justin Timberlake, U2 and Depeche Mode, earned a Grammy nomination and accepted the ‘Order of Merit' from the state of Berlin as part of his numerous accomplishments. Every year, he transforms New York's Central Park into a unique open-air festival. His solo, beach-side performance in Rio de Janeiro attracted over one million people.
"It was a fantastic event; one of the best brand awareness events for Shiro. The JSM Group, which owns Shiro, Hard Rock Café, and a couple of other restaurants, had a contract with Paul van Dyk for his tour to India. We were the venue sponsors. The other sponsors were ITC-Bingo, Absolut, Heineken, MTV and VH1. Submerge was the artiste management company," said Sahil Madan, Assistant General Manager, Shiro.
