Speaking about the initiative, Zaheer T., Producer, NEWS9 said: "Though we intend to find the nation's first-ever Junior Anchor, the contest also aims to promote scholastic excellence and competence through healthy and fair competition and, at the same time, provide a venue for interaction among students from other schools."
This show aims at recognising and providing a platform for students who are smart, intelligent and have good communication skills. Kids from the age group of 12 to 15 years in 10 schools were selected. They underwent three rounds of auditions - a written round, interview round and discussion round. In total, 20 kids were selected, after which the finale was held on Jan. 18 and two students were selected to host the show.
A pre-event promotion was done wherein Eventsource approached different schools in Bangalore, informing them about the initiative. It was also simultaneously promoted through social networking sites, push messages, and letters sent to parents and the school informing about the event.
Commenting on the association, Zubair Mohammed, Operation Manager, Eventsource said: "We were approached with a brief of the junior anchor hunt and were given an opportunity to execute the event based on our concept and execution format. We engaged around 200 to 300 students throughout the event."
