Maruti Suzuki celebrates colors of Indian youth
Wed 23 November 2011
Pursuant to its endeavour to innovate, learn and lead, Maruti Suzuki India Ltd. has launched the maiden edition of a new youth-centric event, titled ‘Maruti Suzuki Colors of Youth 2011'. This initiative aims to spot and celebrate young Indians who tend towards both talent and intelligence. Dun & Bradstreet, a leading provider of global business information, marketing and sales solutions, has been commissioned to conduct the event. Their responsibilities will include promotions, the on-ground execution and data management for the entire event.

Speaking about the concept of the event, Shashank Srivastava, Chief General Manager-Marketing, Maruti Suzuki India Ltd. said: "Colors of Youth is an initiative to put the spotlight on young Indians who will make their mark on the world tomorrow. Colors of Youth will carve a niche for itself as it focuses on the multi-faceted nature of the talent of the youth today, and helps it get noticed by giving it the right platform."

Maruti Suzuki Colors of Youth will offer students a platform to showcase their creativity, talent and knowledge to the country at large. Participants will be judged on skills such as singing, dancing, music, stand-up comedy, innovation, quizzing, etc. The challenge will have two broad categories: a rapid-fire quiz on Indian business and the current national and international scenario, and a talent showcase in any category -music (vocal or instrumental), dance, and other arts (stand-up comedy, innovation, car graphics, painting, etc).

Commenting on the event execution, Pawan Bindal, Director, Dun & Bradstreet India said: "We are pleased to be associated with Maruti Suzuki in this pioneering endeavour. They have created a fantastic platform for many youngsters across India to showcase their talent and versatility. On behalf of Maruti Suzuki, D&B has directly reached out to thousands of colleges across India. Even at this early stage, we have received an overwhelming response for participation from all corners of the nation."

Spread across 10 cities over the course of two and a half months, the competition will consist of a first round of general auditions, followed by 10 city final rounds, and then four zonal final rounds. The grand finale will be held in New Delhi. The entire event will be aired on Zee Business. This competition aims to cover over 300 professional colleges and B-schools in India.
