Tue 22 June 2010
Indian Idol is focusing on live concerts at the last stages of the television show. Seventy Seven Entertainment, which managed the three phase campaign for the show, has been managing the live concerts titled 'Desh ki Awaaz' in Bhopal, Nagpur and Jaipur in the early weeks of June. The agency will follow it up with concerts at Ahmedabad and Chandigarh on June 26 and July 3 respectively.

Commenting on the activity, Manoj Gopalani, Director, Seventy Seven Entertainment said, "We have been associated with Sony Entertainment Television for more than five years now and Indian Idol is a hugely popular and successful show in India. The challenge was to translate the success of Indian Idol 5 from on-screen to on-ground. The huge crowd at the concerts held in these cities reiterated the success of Indian Idol. We hope to continue this success saga in other cities as well."

In each of the cities, the shows are promoted through OOH, radio, tie-ups at popular hang-outs and biker activity. The agency claims to have engaged over a few thousand people at each of the concerts, depending on the size of the venue. While the open-air venues accommodated more than 20,000 people, indoor venues had capacity crowd.
