This edition of the tournament will witness Indian and International participants like Janko Tipsarevic, Nicolas Almagro, Stanislas Wawrinka, Somdev Devvarman, Marin Cilic, Xavier Malisse, and Milos Raonic, amongst others. The tournament will begin with a qualifying round on Dec. 31 and Jan. 1, followed by a tournament from January 2-8, 2012. The finals will take place on Jan. 8, 2012. The prize money for the game is US$ 450,000.

The Aircel Chennai Open will engage more than 35,000 spectators and officials at SDAT Tennis Stadium, Chennai and will interact with an additional 15 lakh visitors over the seven-day tournament."
