MEHK presents MaxiMICE 2011 concludes on a high note
Fri 16 December 2011
The fourth edition of MaxiMICE, an initiative of EVENTFAQS, was held on Dec. 15 at The Trident in Bandra-Kurla, Mumbai. MaxiMICE is an annual meeting of minds to discuss how to enhance Corporate meetings, incentives, conferences and events. The event was sponsored and presented by Meetings and Exhibitions Hong Kong (MEHK), and was hosted by Tisca Chopra.

The key note speaker for MEHK presents MaxiMICE was Ajay Kakar, CMO, Aditya Birla Group - Financial Services, who spoke about the ‘Importance of Relationships', both corporate and personal. In his presentation, Kakar discussed success through engagement and how relations in the MICE business are similar to the love stories in Bollywood movies through very engaging audio visual examples. Kakar emphasized, "It's not about the acquisition, it's about maintaining relations and retention."

Prasad Phansalkar, Head - Network Development, Volkswagen Passenger Cars, gave an industry presentation on the ‘Power of Partnership' in automobile retail, which was an insight into stakeholder management in the automobile industry. Phansalkar's presentation focused on three areas - The Customer: Emerging Trends and Seeking Value, Dealer Dynamics, and Staying true to the brand's vision. In his presentation, Phansalkar emphasized customer satisfaction as being the key to success and dealers being the most crucial stakeholder since they are the people who reach out to customers.

Following the presentations, a panel discussion was held on the topic of the evolving needs of participants of a corporate MICE program. The panelists were H. Venkatachalam, Head - Bancassurance International Business and Sales R&R, ICICI Pru Life Insurance; and VP Sajeevan, Director - Consumer Systems Products, Canon India. The discussion involved the importance of understanding or profiling the participants of a MICE program, the bottom-up approach v/s top-down approach, balancing business objectives with participant expectations, keeping it relevant, and the key to sustainable/recurring programs.

The event came to a closing with a Q&A session and a brief presentation by Meetings and Exhibitions Hong Kong, leaving the participants for networking and dinner.
