Dell partners with Karnataka State Cricket Association
Tue 29 November 2011
Dell has announced its association with the Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA) in an effort to increase technology access for students across Karnataka and to further enhance adoption of computers by students. As a part of promoting this association, R W Promotions been roped in to execute a van promotional activity to reach out to the district headquarters in the state of Karnataka.

Commenting on the association with KSCA, P. Krishnakumar, Executive Director Marketing-Consumer and SMB, Dell India said: "The idea of KSCA going to schools and colleges is not only to promote the game of cricket but also to bring about the professional dimension into cricket appealed to us. We realized that both KSCA and Dell have a few commonalities in the objectives of reaching out to students throughout Karnataka. A motto believed by KSCA that ‘a well-educated student has the potential to be a good cricketer' is vastly appreciated. We at Dell similarly endorse a view that a technologically empowered student is a far better student in this highly competitive world."

Talking about the objective behind the association, Krishnakumar added: "As a technology enabler, Dell aims at empowering students with affordable PC technology to think creatively, be self-reliant and to innovate and expedite their holistic career growth to meet modern world challenges. Our aim is to reach as many schools and colleges spread across the 30 districts of Karnataka as we can."

For executing the activity in Karnataka, a vehicle displaying Dell computer products plans to reach out to approximately 1,800 schools and colleges and visit high footfall areas.

Speaking about the activation, Shyam Chambadan, Bangalore Branch Head, R W Promotions said: "The entry of laptop brands into rural India is a recall of the nation's development and sensing the potential of these smaller pockets Dell is sponsoring all cricket tournaments in Karnataka including U-16 and U-19. Dell is our client and we have been executing events for them."

Shedding some light on the occasion, Javagal Srinath, Secretary, Karnataka State Cricket Association said: "We are glad to be in association with Dell for our technology needs. Technology has become an imminent part of every person's life and the need for increased technological penetration is being felt especially among the student community in the smaller cities. We believe that this move will provide more students within the cricketing community access to technology that will aid in their overall development. We are positive that this partnership with Dell will prove to be fruitful to students in every way and will certainly set an example for others in this field."
