The essence of organising the game is to allow companies to support their employees in the pursuit of a healthier and more active lifestyle. The games will provide the opportunity for anyone, regardless of their sporting ability, to play in a multi-sport festival and remain active in sports. The first edition of games in India will have competitions in 12 games, including hockey, cricket, soccer, soccer 6, swimming, squash, badminton, basketball, billiards, table tennis, lawn tennis and athletics.
Speaking about the event, Gopi Bhatia, CEO and Director, Corporate Games Pvt. Ltd. said: "We had approached Thyme Advertising and they have been roped in to manage the marketing of the event. We are mailing a lot of companies to participate, out of which some of them will sponsor the event. We had also hosted a press conference on Feb. 9, announcing the launch of the Corporate Games Delhi. We plan to engage at least around 2,000 corporate people. "
Employees of business houses like HDFC Bank, Yes Bank, Adobe, Amex, Vodafone, and Ten Sports are expected to participate and inculcate the culture of sports and health in their organizations, while simultaneously serving as a healthy and refreshing break. In addition, personalities such as Kirti Azaad, known for cricket; Zafar Iqbal, known for hockey; Dinesh Khanna, known for badminton; and P.T Usha, known for athletics; have associated with the property.
Commenting on the event, Faheem Khan, Director, Thyme Advertising said: "As of now, PHD Chamber of Commerce and Sports brand, Stag have already been finalized. We are searching for more sponsors who will benefit by online, on site and brand presence on the logo. We intend to promote this event purely by word of mouth and plan to engage 96 organisations from 10 different sectors such as automobile, banking, etc."
