At the event announcing the second edition, Dainik Bhaskar's management also shared a review of the previous year's edition of the awards. This event was mainly targeted at members of the media and was attended by about 60 people. Dainik Bhaskar launched the Bollywood Awards last year to a reported great response.

The event was attended by the cast of the Bollywood film Bol Bachchan - Ajay Devgn, Abhishek Bachchan and Rohit Shetty - who unveiled the Bollywood Awards 2012 booklet. They also spoke about how special the people who voted were and shared their views on the awards while promoting their movie. In addition, they also jammed with the members of the media. The event concluded with a Q&A session with Dainik Bhaskar's management and the Bol Bachchan team.

Commenting on the awards, Brijesh Parekh, ICW said: "These awards reflect India's true choices, cutting across the length and breadth of the country and not just restricted to the metros and major cities. These awards truly are of the people, by the people and for the people." The reach for the property is expected to be substantial, given a subscriber base of 1.9 crore readers of newspapers published by Dainik Bhaskar Group and 90.8 lakh online audience across the various Dainik Group websites.

The event was promoted through Dainik Bhaskar's media platforms which include print, online, and their radio channel - 94.3My FM. The other media partners were Radio City 91.1 FM and Bollywood news channel E 24.

To participate in the voting process, participants can register their e-mail address on daily.bhaskar.com or login with their Facebook account. After registration, they can go to the Bhaskar Bollywood Awards section and vote for their favourite nominees in each category. Members can also create their own nominations. Ten lucky voters will get to meet their stars and hand over the awards to them.
