Speaking about the event, Charlotte Ward, Agent - Operations and Marketing Manager, The Comedy Store said: "The Comedy Store designates its Fridays to its section, Best In Stand-up, which enjoys immense popularity. Post the act by the actors of Fatso, we organised a one-on-one interaction with the audience. This promotional event was followed by an act by Tom Wrigglesworth, Alistair Barrie and Paul Thorne. By organising a performance by comedians after the promotional event for the movie, we successfully pulled in additional crowds who had attended the event organised by Pritish Nandy Communications."
To create awareness about the show, the auditorium was equipped with drop-down screens that showcased the promotional trailer of Fatso. The audience was also engaged on social media sites and there were posters and standees set up around the venue to create visibility for the event. The promotional event by Fatso and the stand-up act collectively helped The Comedy Store to reach out to a fan base of 1,20,000 people.
Commenting on the objective behind getting Fatso on board, Ward added: "Many movies have approached us in the past, but an association hasn't worked out every time because we are very particular about our brand image. There was a certain comic synergy with Fatso that went well with our image. Also, Rajat Kapoor is a big name in theatre, which helped us to seal this deal greatly."
