Shah Rukh Khan stole the evening by hosting the event along with Madhuri Dixit, Vidya Balan and Katrina Kaif, in his typical a la SRK style, blended in with dance performances.
The Best Film Award was shared by 'The Dirty Picture' and 'Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara' - both of which bagged several other awards as well. Ranbir Kapoor and Vidya Balan won Best Actor and Best Actress for their films 'Rockstar' and 'The Dirty Picture' respectively. A.R. Rahman bagged the Best Music Director Award while Asha Bhosale received the Lifetime Achievement Award. While Priyanka Chopra got the Best Actress Award for her negative role in 'Saat Khoon Maaf', Prashant Narayan won the award in the male category for 'Murder 2'.
Rekha, Yash Chopra, Juhi Chawla, Karan Johar, Neil Nitin Mukesh, Mugdha Godse, Prateik, Amy Jackson, Shakti Kapoor, Pooja Bhatt, Kalki Koechlin, Vidhu Vinod Chopra, and Sharman Joshi were among those who graced the event, along with several small screen celebrities.
"Cineyug has been associated with these awards for a long time and moreover, we organise many such award shows," said Mohammed Morani, Director, Cineyug.
The sound equipment and arrangement was provided by Roger Drego, video was done by Vinayak Video Vision and the lights by Jagmag Electronics.
